.WATER....keeping your body hydrated The article below is an excerpt from my course on Conscious Eating. Let's take a closr look at the beverages you drink daily. Below is a table in which I have divided beverages up into categories of Good, In Between, and Bad, indicating their ability to hydrate your body. Indicate next to each one how many glasses of each one you might consume in a day (or in a week, if would work better for you). If you are unsure, look back on your food journal pages. I feel that milk is not a good choice, most people who drink it suffer from digestive distubances (bloating, gas), and recurring colds & flu, and excess mucous conditions, there is some question as to whether it is even a good source of calcium. Sodas are high in phosphorus and actually leech calcium from our bones. The other beverages listed in the Bad column are dehydrating, extra water should be consumed for every dehydrating beverage you drink.
The body is made up of 70% water. We should consume 2 liters (2 quarts) of fresh filtered water in a day, more than that if dehydrating beverages are consumed. It is ok of herbal teas make someof this liquid, but it should be mostly water. For every 10 lbs. of excess body weight, an extra glass of water should be consumed. When you don't drink enough water, the kidneys take what they need first, the skin and lungs would get what they requrie last. So if you are suffering from skin diseases (eczema, acne), toxicity, headaches or constipation try drinking more water. How much water do you drink in a day?___________________ Do

track of how much water you drink? I recommend this to all my clients.
____________________________ If you find dinking 2 liters of water a day difficult, begin with a smaller amount and increase the amount gradually, as you feel the benefits you will find it easier to increase the amount of water you drink. Not drinking ehough water is the root cause of many health problems, by simply drinking 2 liters of fresh filtered water a day, you may find that many health problems start to clear up.
Under normal conditions your body loses 2 1/2 - 3 quarts (12 glasses) of water every day.

SKIN KIDNEYS Signs of dehydration are dark urine, scanty urine, thirst, and dry mouth. Urine should be pale yellow to clear in color to indicate that you are drinking enough water (please note that after you take B vitamins your urine will be bright yellow in color). Your body needs to be getting 2-3 ounces of water every hour. This is why I recommend carrying at drink bottle with you at all times. Chronic dehydration can cause constipation, weight gain, high cholesterol, a decreased threshold of pain, accumulation of toxic materials in the body, and kidney problems. You should choose filtered or bottled water. Tap water can contain industrial chemicals, chlorine, flouride, bacteria, viruses, parasites, pesticides and herbicides.
