I am offering distance learning classes in a forum so we can meet & discuss as a group. I have wanted to offer something like this for a quite a while now, so here it is! Updated information will be on the forum.
Beginning in January 2012, I am offering a forum with 2 separate communities:one for reiki, and one for herbalism. The reiki forum will be a place for those who have been attuned to at least reiki level 1 to discuss subjects related to reiki, and share distance healing. There are workshops available for a small fee as well. The Herbal forum is a place for general discussions related to herbalism. For those with health questions & those wanting herbal knowledge I offer an 8 month herbalist course on this forum. I am also offering workshops on the forum for those who already have a basis in herbal knowledge.

2012 DISTANCE LEARNING
HERBAL APPRENTICESHIP:
8 MONTH COURSE ON THE HERBAL FORUM

- dropper bottles (which you can buy in bulk online, or sometimes 1 at a time at a health food store)
This is an 8 month course, which is paid as we go along month by month. Most interaction from me will be in the section of the forum for that month. So if you miss a month & want to still take it, you will have access to that month’s section, but less chance for interaction. I will however, check previous month’s sections from time to time.
YOU WILL NEED A SUPPLY OF DRIED HERBS, WHICH YOU NEED TO HAVE BEFORE THE COURSE BEGINS.
I have chosen 24 of the herbs that would be the most important to have during this course, to give you enough herbs to work with & to form the basis of your herbal practice (whether that will be clients, friend, family, or just yourself and/or pets).
I can mail you 100 grams (just under 1/4 lb) of each of these herbs for a cost of $120, plus whatever shipping will cost to your area. That way you will have small amounts of herbs to work with & get to know, and you can branch out from there, deciding which one's you'd like to learn to find & harvest locally or which ones you'd like to order by the pound, I can give you the name of my herb supplier for this. You are welcome to find your own supplier of herbs, but you will need them before you can begin the course -- allow 6 - 8 weeks if you are getting me to ship the herbs to you.
YOU WILL NEED A PRINTER. When I post the info on the forum every few weeks, you'll need to print the information & put it in a binder. I would guess it will be several hundred pages by the end of the course.
For this course there will be a list of supplies needed, such as jars, cutting board, oil, vodka, beeswax, etc. You will also need to purchase good quality dried herbs before you can begin the course. I happy to give you the name of my US supplier when you register.
The plants covered are listed below. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so many of the plants are native that that area & can be wild harvested.
I have been upgrading my herbal knowledge much to my excitement & this has given me renewed creativity with my herbal work. I am working lots more with local plants, and relying way less on ordering herbs.
I am working more with choosing herbs on an energetic basis to work with each person’s constitution rather than on a symptomatic basis of choosing and herb to match an ailment.
Since I have taught this course for 3 years now, I decided it is time to overhaul the entire course & rewrite it.
This year we will focus more on the local plants.
